Let it be said that for all the cartoons I’ve watched as a kid, not too many of the ones that started after the turn of the century really got me hooked on the show. I’m not saying that none of them got me interested. The show Kids Next Door had a great feel to it, but it still was lacking a bit of the pizzazz that I usually look forward to in a cartoon, such as Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter’s Laboratory, and who could forget the eternal Ed, Edd n’ Eddy? That’s what I’m gonna talk about here today; the greatest animated show in my opinion. Note that this is my choice for 5 mysteries of Ed, Edd n’ Eddy, so if you have another that I missed, please leave it in the comments below. Now onto the train wreck.

Mystery 5: The Supernatural Powered Boomerang

Remember in the episode Hand Me Down Ed where a boomerang was making Jimmy, Sarah, Rolf and the Eds act strangely? Well what would have happened if the boomerang had found itself in the hands of Johnny, Nazz, Kevin or the Kankers. I have a guess that it would turn Kevin into Eddy, Nazz into a girl rather than a tomboy, and the Kankers into Edaphobics rather than Edaholics, get it?

Mystery 4: Plank

As you will recall, Johnny 2X4, as he has come to be known, carries around with him Plank, a piece of plywood with a face drawn on it with crayon. I know that it may seem like a weird thing to pick up on, but in the episode Every Which Way But Ed, in one of the last slides before Ed get’s he and his chums stuck in the past, a 5-year old Johnny is stuck in the monkey bars and has Plank at his legs, leading me to believe that he has had Plank for at least 7 years. Another thing to pick up on is that despite Plank being a creation of Johnny’s own imagination, he does have parents. What does this mean? Did Johnny’s parents have Planks of their own growing up? If so, than I suppose the saying ‘the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ applies greatly here, if you know what I mean.

Mystery 3: Ed’s Pesky Problem Solvers

In the crossover episode of Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Code Name: Kids Next Door, one of the first things Billy does after ruining his fathers lucky pants is call the Eds. Eddy coincidentally has a scam going called Ed’s Pesky Problem Solvers but refuses to fix the problem since Billy was broke. At this time, it is currently unknown whether the scam was successful or not, but if past experience is anything to bring up about the show, it probably failed before Sector V got to Billy’s house.

Mystery 2: Rolf’s Homeland

Through out the series, Rolf has constantly complained about not being in his homeland, but where it is has never been clarified. In curiosity, I actually looked it up, but I couldn’t find anything about it. Here are a few ‘traditions’ that Rolf claims were a part of his childhood; Celebrating his Great Nano (Supposedly his great grandfather) and the Mighty Sea Cucumber; The Traditional Eels of Forgiveness; The Cupcakes of Sorryness; and my favorite, That’s my Horse. There’s this belief that Rolf is from Norway because of something in the episode No Speak Da Ed, and while Rolf's flashback in Every Which Way But Ed supports this, I’m not sold on it.

Mystery 1: Double D’s Hat

Now for the obvious question that has been left unanswered; what is underneath Double D’s Stalking Cap. Ever since the episode Stop, Look and Ed, so why would AKA Cartoons bring such attention to it if it wasn’t important? I swear that that episode is the only reason the mystery exists. What’s worse is that Antonucci keeps on teasing us. First he claims he’ll reveal the secret in the movie, but he doesn’t. Now he says that he’ll reveal it when he does the how to draw Double D in the next DVD set. Who want’s to bet that the reason he really won’t show us is because he himself has no idea.

Those are my top 5 mysteries of Ed, Edd n’ Eddy. Which show should I do a top 5 mysteries of next I wonder? How about this; Leave a suggestion below and we’ll see what happens. I left a criteria in the description, so please read it before making your suggestion.

Until next time, Chio.
Please leave a request for which cartoon I do next. I'll work on a cover art for this new series, but it probably won't be that cool, if you get what I'm sayin.
Here's the Criteria:
1. It must be an American made animation, so Teen Titans is a choice.
2. I haven't seen every last cartoon. If I haven't seen it, than I unfortunately won't get to it any time soon.
3. Along with the cartoon, give an example of a mystery that is in the series.
4. Any more questions and complaints will be answered and accepted respectively.
